Here's why you shoulf not teach IT on Internet in Africa.
We had issues yesterday with me connection to the internet. This morning we solved this by replacing the wireless access point. So all looked good.
The rest of the morning was spent with Richard solving various computer and printer issues.
After lunch we had scheduled a staff training session on dropbox. Fred was keen for the school to have a central place to store documents. Teachers can also have their own dropbox and then backup and share documents.
The training started well but then went downhill when the internet stopped working and it did not start working again all day.
Luckily I had already downloaded a video from youtube on how to setup and use dropbox. Great! we can watch that. Start the video and its in spanish....
So we switched to Excel looked at some advanced formulas.
It great to see the use of IT slowly invading the school. Some of the teachers have their own laptops or a school one. They are very keen to know more, but not just to pplay with the technology. They really want to know how it can help them be better teachers.
