IT trainees - Thursday 18th

I have spent today training these 3 guys plus 2 others in the basics of networking.
They had all studied Computer Science at university, but it was all theory.
Today was spent reveiwing concepts but also applying them in real world examples.
It was encouraging to see the "light come on" for each one as we worked through the concepts.

Early in the morning I helped setup a number of dropbox accounts. Fred and I met to discuss the IT plan and we may move the school to use the free suite of Google products. We'll try to sign up tomorrow. Another actin point  to to register a new domain name foha.rw for the school. Each teacher will be given their own professional email address.

"Damn Internet" - just before lunchtime the interner stopped. It had been running fine until then. After some checking I found the schools plan allows 1.5GB per day and then its cut off, not slowed down. Guess what we hit the 1.5GB limited..this is why we had no internet today and yesterday during training.
We'll need to solve this issue = spend more money for a better plan.

Steve
